    There are too many disasters for China this year, snow disaster, Tibetan riot, obstacles during the torch relay, hands-feet-mouth disease, earthquake. As a Chinese, we can never keep calm. How can we keep placid while thousands of countrymen lost their lives, thousands of people became homeless, and still thousands of them were injured? I always felt pain in my heart while browsing through webpages recently.

    Bertrand Russel said that, "Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love,the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind." During the past, I could just fully understand the former two aspects, because I thought that I was living in a peaceful age, on a secure planet. And never have I so strongly felt such great compassion and sorrow for humanbeings, particularly for our Chinese people during this evertful year--2008 .

    But we still have hope, and we will never be hopeless, we have so many zealous people showed their love and care for the people suffered, we have such great Country leaders, and I firmyly believe that our dear motherland will move on despite so many difficulties.
